About

I think that perspective is extremely important. And I believe that it applies to any art form, including whisky-making. So many times, I find a review of a single malt aged in a sherry cask, which references the flavours of dried fruit, vanilla, and caramel. Still, it does not give you a full taste profile because there is no true perspective. You take another single malt aged in a sherry cask, and, sure enough, there will be references to dried fruit, vanilla and caramel again. But perhaps one is a bit sweeter, softer, or rounder than the other. How can you tell from a single review?

This is why, in my journey, I compare two whiskies, side by side, with my perspective between them. My approach is hands-on and intimate: first, like anyone, I have my expectations (and may even foreshadow my prediction), then I taste the two drams side-by-side and share my real-time observations, from unexpected joys to the occasional letdowns. Ultimately, I choose a favourite, and along the way, I hope to learn something new and share that knowledge with you. If you’re curious about the nuanced and fascinating world of whisky and enjoy a personal touch in your reading, you’re in the right place. Stick around, subscribe, and join me on this flavorful adventure, two drams at a time!

Besides that, there isn’t much here for you to find out. What you see is what you get. Some words and hopefully some music to accompany the musings. There may be more to be revealed in the future, but for now, if you have any questions or need to contact us for any reason, please use the form below.
